Antique White Heart Trade Bead
Dispatched within two working days, tracked and signed.
A single antique white heart trade bead: red glass over a white core, made in Venice and carried into West Africa along the nineteenth-century trade routes.
The name comes from the construction. A core of opaque white glass is cased in translucent red, so the bead glows from the inside when it catches the light. Look down the hole and you can see the white.
Roughly 8mm across with a 2mm hole. These are old beads, not reproductions, so expect small chips, uneven ends and variation in size. That wear is the point.
It threads onto the deer lace, and the fit is deliberately snug so the bead holds its place rather than sliding. Sold individually, for adding to a piece, restringing, or building something of your own.
